University of Illinois

The Inter-Campus Communications Network (ICCN) is a University-owned and managed fiber optical network connecting the three University of Illinois campuses to each other, to commodity Internet and to research entities, like Internet2 and ESnet.

The ICCN is a 40 channel DWDM network with add/drop locations in Champaign-Urbana, Springfield, Peoria, Bloomington, and Chicago.  Currently, the University utilizes 10Gbps lambdas for production and 100 Gbps lambdas for research.  The ICCN operations team supports optical transport services for multiple educational entities not affiliated with the University.
